Collaboration with Financial Institutions:
Preventive Messages on Waiting Ticket Margins
QR Codes Offer Practical, Citizen-Focused Prevention
Expanding Preventive Activities Through Partnerships
with Hospitals and Public Offices
On January 13, the Gumi Police Station in North Gyeongsang Province announced that it will collaborate with Saemaeul Geumgo to launch a voice phishing prevention campaign using waiting tickets, in order to prevent citizens from suffering financial losses due to the recent surge in voice phishing crimes.
Under this initiative, when citizens visit financial institutions and receive a waiting ticket, a preventive message will be inserted in the margin of the ticket paper, and a QR code will immediately connect them to a voice phishing prevention promotional video produced by the National Police Agency.

Notably, Gumi Police Station and Saemaeul Geumgo signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on December 18 to eradicate voice phishing damage. As part of this agreement, this initiative was planned to provide practical and tangible preventive measures that citizens can directly experience.
In this way, Gumi Police Station plans to expand the use of waiting tickets for preventive campaigns not only in financial institutions but also in cooperation with hospitals, public offices, and other organizations in the future.
Gumi Police Chief Yoo Ojae stated, "It is important to implement preventive policies against voice phishing crimes that citizens can feel in their daily lives," adding, "We will continue to carry out various preventive activities to reduce voice phishing damage through ongoing collaboration with local organizations."
