On January 13, Germany’s leading financial institution Deutsche Bank and comprehensive payment service provider NHN KCP announced that they have been selected as the official domestic payment service providers for Henkel Consumer Brands Korea, the global household goods company.
Under this agreement, Deutsche Bank and NHN KCP will provide electronic payment gateway (PG) services for Henkel’s dedicated B2B (business-to-business) platform. This platform is used for ordering major beauty brand products from Henkel, such as Shiseido Professional and Schwarzkopf Professional. It supports major online payment methods, including credit cards and bank transfers. Through this, distribution partners and business customers are expected to benefit from a more stable and convenient payment environment.
Henkel, a multinational chemical and consumer goods company founded in Germany in 1876, owns a diverse portfolio of brands ranging from hair care products like Persil, Syoss, and Bref, to laundry detergents, household insecticides, and bathroom and kitchen cleaning products. The company operates in 125 countries worldwide and officially launched its 'Henkel Consumer Brands' division in 2022, integrating its consumer goods segment.
Deutsche Bank is one of Germany’s leading commercial and investment banks, offering a wide range of financial services-including corporate finance, corporate payments and cash management, lending, asset management, and wealth management-across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas.
NHN KCP and Deutsche Bank have been expanding payment infrastructure for global enterprises based on their 'Merchant Solutions' partnership. 'Merchant Solutions' refers to providing businesses (merchants) with payment-related functions such as payment authorization, settlement, and security authentication to process electronic payments. This collaboration combines Deutsche Bank’s global network with NHN KCP’s electronic payment technology, and both companies plan to expand the application of their integrated payment solutions to various companies and domestic and international merchant networks beyond Henkel in the future.
An NHN KCP representative stated, “Being selected as the official payment service provider for Henkel is a meaningful achievement, resulting from the combination of a global financial network and the nation’s top-tier electronic payment technology. NHN KCP will stably support Henkel’s growth in the domestic market and the expansion of its digital commerce, and we will continue to lead the development and innovation of Korea’s payment ecosystem by expanding collaborations with global beauty and household goods companies.”
Meanwhile, NHN KCP, as the number one electronic payment service provider in Korea, has been offering comprehensive e-commerce infrastructure, including payment processing, settlement, and security, and has led innovation in the electronic payment sector, such as simple payment services. Recently, the company has been actively pursuing new businesses, including stablecoins, to maximize convenience for merchants and customers and to lead the digital financial environment.
