Pocheon City Expands Special Guarantee Support to Ease Financial Difficulties for SMEs

Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on January 13 that the number of special guarantee supports provided to alleviate the financial difficulties of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) has recently increased significantly.

The special guarantee is a system that applies relaxed screening criteria and provides guarantees of up to 300 million won per company. Companies that receive a guarantee certificate can use it to secure loans from financial institutions, which offers practical help in stabilizing management and laying the foundation for business recovery.

In 2024, Pocheon City supported 4 billion won in new special guarantees for 29 companies. In 2025, the city greatly expanded the scale by providing a total of 8.6 billion won in special guarantees to 68 companies.

Building on these achievements, Pocheon City has allocated 800 million won for SME special guarantee contributions in 2026, an increase of 100 million won compared to the previous year. This measure aims to further ease the financial burden on local SMEs, supporting their stable management even as the economic downturn and worsening financial conditions persist.

A Pocheon City official stated, "We hope that the special guarantee support will provide practical assistance to local SMEs facing difficulties due to worsening external conditions and a strong won-dollar exchange rate. We will continue to promote ongoing support policies that reflect the voices of businesses on the ground and strive to develop new policies."

Any SME located in Pocheon City is eligible to apply for the special guarantee, although some industries may be excluded from support. Details can be found in the relevant announcement. Companies wishing to apply should consult with the Pocheon branch of the Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation and then submit an application.
