Woori Bank Extends Main Partnership with LCK

Partnership Continues Since 2019
"Various Events Planned, Including the Asian Games"

On January 12, Woori Bank announced that it has extended its main partnership agreement with Riot Games for the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK), the domestic professional league for League of Legends (LoL).

The signing ceremony, held at 'Chijijik LoL Park' in Jongno, Seoul, was attended by Jung Jinwan, President of Woori Bank, Cho Hyukjin, CEO of Riot Games Korea, and other key officials from both companies. They agreed to continue the main partnership that has been ongoing since 2019.

Woori Bank has contributed to discovering new talent in esports by hosting the 'Woori WON Banking High School LoL League' four times and supported the national esports team at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games. For LCK fans, Woori Bank operated an 'Esports Zone' within Woori WON Banking, set up on-site event booths at the tournament finals, and offered limited-edition merchandise, among other various events, to strengthen communication with fans.

Starting with the LCK Cup held in January this year, Woori Bank plans to introduce a variety of online and offline events. In particular, Woori Financial Group, which has been selected as an official partner of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, plans to actively promote marketing campaigns supporting the national esports team, as League of Legends has been adopted as an official esports event at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games to be held this year.

Jung Jinwan, President of Woori Bank, stated, "I still remember the excitement and joy that esports brought to the nation when we won the gold medal at the last Hangzhou Asian Games. I hope that the partnership between Woori Bank and Riot Games will greatly contribute to the development and expansion of the esports industry."
