Yoon Honggeun, Chairman of Genesis BBQ Group, is donating 1 billion won in development funds to Chosun University.

Genesis BBQ Group announced on January 13 that it held a donation ceremony on the afternoon of the 7th at the main building 'Cheongchureum' of Chosun University, where it delivered 1 billion won in development funds to strengthen the university's educational competitiveness and foster future talent. The ceremony was attended by Chairman Yoon Honggeun, Vice Chairman Yoon Kyungjoo, President Park Jiman, and other key executives of Genesis BBQ Group.

Chosun University is the first private university in Korea, established in 1946 with the participation of approximately 72,000 citizens, mainly from the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions.

In his speech at the ceremony, Chairman Yoon Honggeun explained the purpose of the donation, stating, "As a company grows, it is my responsibility to consider how to give back its achievements to future generations." He recalled, "For me, the scholarships I received during my school days were more than just financial support-they were the driving force behind my challenges toward the future." He added, "I decided to make this donation to return the help I once received to society and to lay the foundation for outstanding future talent to grow and thrive on the global stage."

Chairman Yoon has a special connection to Chosun University, as he was selected as a merit-based scholarship student and was able to continue his studies there after facing financial difficulties during his youth that nearly forced him to give up on attending university. He also expressed, "I hope this donation will serve as a strong foundation for Chosun University as it moves toward a greater future through change and innovation."

Chairman Kim Isu stated, "Chairman Yoon Honggeun's management philosophy and vision for 2030 make this 80th anniversary year of Chosun University even more meaningful," and added, "I hope that such challenges and sharing will lead to the university's development and become a source of pride for the Chosun University community."

This development fund will be used to expand Chosun University's educational and research infrastructure, improve the educational environment, and support various educational programs and initiatives to nurture future talent with global capabilities.
