Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association Accepting Applications for "2026 Women Entrepreneurs Merit Awards"

The Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association announced on January 13 that it is accepting applications for the "2026 Women Entrepreneurs Merit Awards."

The Women Entrepreneurs Merit Awards is a nationwide program recognizing individuals who have contributed to the development and growth of women-led businesses. Targeting 3.37 million women entrepreneurs, the awards are presented at the opening ceremony of "Women Entrepreneurs Week," which takes place during the first week of July each year.

The awards are divided into four categories: exemplary women entrepreneurs, exemplary female employees (including executives), contributors to the promotion of women-led businesses, and outstanding organizations (institutions) supporting women entrepreneurs. Through a review process, recipients will be honored with government awards such as the Order of Industrial Service Merit, Industrial Service Medal, the Presidential Citation, the Prime Minister’s Citation, as well as ministerial and vice-ministerial commendations.

The association also plans to accept nominations for award candidates from major organizations representing women in business, including the Korea Women Venture Association, the Korea Women Inventors Association, and the IT Women Entrepreneurs Association.

Park Chang-sook, President of the association, stated, "The Women Entrepreneurs Merit Awards serve as an opportunity to highlight the achievements of women entrepreneurs who have contributed to national economic development and job creation through innovation and growth." She added, "We hope that many outstanding examples of women entrepreneurs will become widely known, and we encourage active interest and participation in the application process."
