Paju City Announces Public Recruitment for 'Paju-type Together Care Center' Installation Sites

Responding to Growing Childcare Demand
Expansion Planned to Include Non-Mandatory Facilities

Paju City in Gyeonggi Province has announced a public recruitment for installation sites for the 'Paju-type Together Care Center' in 2026, in response to a significant increase in public childcare demand. This surge is attributed to the rise in dual-income households, delays in the opening of elementary schools in Unjeong New Town, and overcrowded classrooms.

The Together Care Center is a facility that provides regular and temporary care, experiential activities, and learning and play programs for elementary school students aged 6 to 12, regardless of household income level.

The eligible installation sites for this recruitment must have a dedicated area of at least 66 square meters. Applications are accepted from apartment community facilities, first-class neighborhood living facilities, detached houses, and facilities for children and the elderly. In addition, the space must be provided free of charge for at least five years, there must be no businesses within 50 meters that restrict youth entry, and the site must ensure both safety and accessibility.

Each selected installation site will receive 50 million won for renovation costs and 20 million won for equipment, along with support for operating expenses and personnel costs. After the installation site is finalized, a public recruitment process will be held to select a qualified private organization to operate the center.

Organizations and groups wishing to apply must submit their applications by February 6. For more details, applicants can search for 'Together Care Center' on the announcement, promotion, and public notice boards of the Paju City Hall website to review the official notice.

Meanwhile, Paju City expanded the number of Together Care Centers from 15 at the end of 2024 to a total of 26 by adding 11 more centers by the end of 2025. As a result, the city achieved the highest number of new installations nationwide in 2025.

Going forward, Paju City plans to gradually expand its childcare infrastructure. This recruitment is particularly significant as it represents an initiative by the local government to independently assess demand and expand even to non-mandatory facilities, establishing a specialized care system unique to Paju.
