Kang Yujeong Delivers Written Briefing
"Listening to the Wisdom and Capabilities of the Religious Community"
President Lee Jaemyung will hold a luncheon meeting with major domestic religious leaders at the Blue House on January 12 to discuss national unity.
Kang Yujeong, spokesperson for the Blue House, stated in a written briefing that morning, "This event has been organized at the start of the new year to reaffirm the era's challenges of national unity and restoring social trust, and to listen to the wisdom and capabilities of the religious community in order to move beyond division and conflict toward coexistence and integration."
From the Buddhist community, Jinwoo, Chief Executive Director of the Jogye Order, Deoksu, Chief Executive Director of the Cheontae Order, and Sangjin, Chief Executive Director of the Taego Order, will attend.
From the Christian community, Kim Jungseok, President of the United Christian Churches of Korea, Park Seungnyeol, Secretary General of the National Council of Churches in Korea, and Ko Kyunghwan, President of the Christian Council of Korea, will be present.
From the Catholic Church, Archbishop Jeong Soontaek of the Seoul Archdiocese and Bishop Lee Yonghoon, Chairman of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Korea, are included among the attendees.
Other attendees will include Na Sangho, Head Dharma Master of Won Buddhism; Choi Jongsu, Director of Sungkyunkwan for Confucianism; Park Injun, Leader of Cheondoism; and Kim Ryeongha, President of the Korean Association of National Religions.
From the Office of the President, Chief of Staff Kang Hunsik, Policy Chief Kim Yongbeom, Senior Secretary for Listening and Integration Jeon Seonghwan, and Senior Secretary for Social Affairs Moon Jinyoung are expected to attend, along with Choi Hwiyeong, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, representing the government.
