Nexv, a company specializing in AI-based mental healthcare, announced that it has obtained a technology patent for its chatbot system that provides mental health communication.

The newly registered patent covers a chatbot system technology that quantifies and analyzes a user's emotional state in real time and provides personalized mental health communication based on the results. Unlike conventional chatbots that simply provide question-and-answer interactions, this system continuously reflects changes in the user's emotional flow, setting it apart from existing solutions.

The core of the patented technology is the concept of an "emotional point." When a user inputs an emotionally charged sentence through the chatbot, the system utilizes a pre-stored emotion analysis algorithm to analyze the sentence and calculate the emotional point. These emotional points are accumulated in a virtual "emotional point slot," which the system monitors in real time.

When the emotional points meet one of several pre-set response conditions, the system generates a response sentence suitable for the user's emotional state using a natural language processing algorithm. At the same time, it identifies emotional content stored in the database and provides it to the user along with the response sentence, thereby enabling more multidimensional mental health communication.

Song Hwangoo, Head of Research at Nexv, stated, "This patent is significant because it is not a one-off assessment of user emotions, but a technology that interacts by reflecting the accumulation and flow of emotional changes. We plan to expand this next-generation AI communication technology for use in mental health counseling, emotional care, and public, medical, and welfare fields."
