Uijeongbu City Kicks Off the New Year with a Powerful Start through "Relay Slogans" Uniting All 15 Districts

Uijeongbu City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Donggeun) held the "2026 New Year's Greetings with City Administration Cooperation Partners" event on the 9th at the City Hall Auditorium (Taejo Hall).

This event was organized to mark 2026, the Year of the Red Horse, and served as a platform for communication to share Uijeongbu's vision with city administration cooperation partners who are dedicated to the region's development, and to pledge a hopeful new year together.

The event was attended by more than 200 city administration cooperation partners from various sectors, including Mayor Kim Donggeun, local members of the National Assembly, city and provincial council members, the Residents' Autonomy Association, the Community Leaders' Council, and the Saemaeul Association, adding significance to the occasion.

Notably, the event broke away from the traditional seated format and introduced a "standing style" that allowed participants to move freely and interact. Attendees exchanged greetings and communicated naturally without being bound by formality, fostering a spirit of mutual encouragement and unity. The structure of the event emphasized the initiative of the city administration partners, further enhancing the meaning of participation.

The highlight of the event was the "Relay New Year Slogan" performance, in which all 15 districts (dong) came together. Representatives and members from each of the 15 districts, from Uijeongbu 1-dong to Gosan-dong, shouted powerful slogans that reflected the individuality and aspirations of each district, resonating as a pledge for Uijeongbu City's leap forward and unity in 2026, and greatly elevating the atmosphere at the venue.

An official from Uijeongbu City stated, "The dedication of city administration cooperation partners, who have worked together behind the scenes, is the driving force behind the development of Uijeongbu City," and added, "We will continue to communicate with citizens and strive to create a better city together."
