MediHIM has officially launched IPPEO, a remote medical consultation support platform. IPPEO is a service designed to help users make informed decisions after sufficient consultation, rather than rushing into procedures or choosing a hospital. The company announced plans for full-scale expansion, beginning with the Japanese market.
Traditionally, decision-making in the medical and cosmetic fields has focused on searching for information and comparing reviews. However, there have been ongoing concerns that it is difficult to gain confidence in whether a choice truly fits one’s personal situation. IPPEO was developed with this issue in mind, centering its service around the consultation experience that takes place before a final decision is made.
The global remote medical consultation market continues to grow steadily. According to market research firm Fortune Business Insights, the market is projected to reach approximately 119.9 billion dollars by 2025, with the Asia-Pacific region also expected to see substantial expansion. Against this backdrop, IPPEO focuses on reducing anxiety and information gaps that arise during the medical decision-making process, rather than on the medical services themselves.
IPPEO enables users to thoroughly explain their conditions and concerns to Korean medical professionals through remote consultations, helping them understand various options, including procedures and surgeries. The consultation process is not based on the assumption of any specific medical procedure, and instead of rushing decisions, it is structured to help users clarify why a procedure might be necessary and what factors should be considered. The goal is to alleviate the psychological burden and information imbalance associated with medical choices.
Regarding the decision to enter the Japanese market first, an IPPEO representative explained, “Although Japan has abundant information on medical and beauty services, the process of gaining confidence in choices tailored to individual situations is often insufficient. IPPEO aims to create an environment where customers can ask questions, understand, and make decisions for themselves.”
IPPEO provides services such as support for decision-making through remote consultations, scheduling and reservation management after consultations, guidance on various payment methods, and enhanced convenience through partnerships with local Japanese partners. The platform does not offer direct medical procedures, but instead focuses on supporting customers throughout the entire process to help them make more thoughtful choices.
An IPPEO representative stated, “Now that remote medical consultations have become commonplace, what matters is not how quickly you can connect, but how thoroughly you can understand. IPPEO aims to be a platform that helps customers make decisions they are convinced of themselves, rather than simply following the choices of others.”
Meanwhile, IPPEO is gradually advancing its services starting with the Japanese market, and is preparing for global expansion into major Asian countries, including Korea, in the future.
