Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation Hosts Startup Demo Day in Silicon Valley

Impact startups nurtured by the Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation met with global investors in Silicon Valley to explore opportunities for entering the North American market.

The foundation announced on January 12 that it held the 'Silicon Valley Impact Startup Demo Day' at WeFunder in Silicon Valley, USA, on January 8. The event was attended by more than 70 local investors and startup officials.

This event was organized to help outstanding impact startups, selected through the foundation's flagship startup incubation program 'H-OnDream Startup Ground,' establish themselves in the North American market and secure local investment networks.

In particular, this demo day was co-hosted with Hustle Fund, a US-based venture capital firm with more than 600 portfolio companies, which significantly increased the potential for attracting real investment.

On stage, seven teams presented their innovative technologies addressing a range of social challenges, including climate change response and improving mobility and information accessibility for people with disabilities.

Key startups that presented included Binow, a smart livestock company managing animal health in real time using AI-based internal IoT (Internet of Things); Eumtech, a next-generation agricultural cooling film company that cools crops without energy; and Mush&N, a future food company creating sustainable products from mushroom mycelium.

A foundation official stated, "We have confirmed that K-impact startups fostered through H-OnDream Startup Ground possess strong competitiveness not only in Korea but also in global markets. We hope this Silicon Valley demo day will serve as a bridgehead for our startups to expand into the North American market and become an opportunity to create social impact on the global stage."
