Wonju City Approves and Announces Megadata Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex Plan

Full-scale Launch of Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex Project in Dangudong Area

Wonju City in Gangwon Province officially approved and announced the industrial complex plan for the 'Megadata Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex,' which will be established at 112-1, Saneop-dong, on January 9.

With this approval, the project to create the urban high-tech industrial complex on approximately 95,000 square meters in the Dangudong area will move forward in earnest.

This industrial complex is being developed with the goal of fostering industries based on information and communication technology (ICT) and expanding advanced industrial infrastructure in the region. The main target industries for attraction are computer programming and information services.

The total project site covers 95,167 square meters (approximately 28,788 pyeong), of which 54,410 square meters (about 16,459 pyeong) are designated for industrial facilities. The estimated project cost, excluding construction expenses, is about 52.4 billion won.

Won Kangsu, Mayor of Wonju City, stated, "The establishment of the Megadata Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex will serve as an important milestone for Wonju City to advance as a future digital industrial city," adding, "We will do our utmost to provide administrative management and support to ensure the project proceeds without setbacks."
