Strengthening Community-Oriented Administration
Promoting On-Site Communication with Citizens
Mayor Dongsik Park of Sacheon City will embark on the "2026 Town and Township Tour," which aims to implement field-oriented administration across all towns and townships and to broadly reflect citizens' voices in municipal affairs, running until January 23.
This tour has been organized to share the achievements of the 8th popularly elected administration with citizens and to envision the city’s future together. Over the past three years, the city has pursued major initiatives such as ▲advancing as the aerospace capital of Korea, ▲establishing a foundation as a central city for marine tourism along the southern coast, ▲revitalizing the local economy and stabilizing livelihoods, and ▲creating prosperous living conditions. The city plans to inform citizens about these key achievements, listen to their suggestions and requests on-site, and actively incorporate them into policy.
In particular, the city intends to share its medium- and long-term vision with citizens, focusing on securing new growth engines in the aerospace sector-such as the construction of the main Aerospace Administration building and the development of an aerospace complex city-as well as the balanced expansion of essential infrastructure in transportation, education, culture, and welfare. The goal is to build consensus on the direction of the city’s development.
The tour schedule is as follows: Namyangdong and Seopo-myeon on January 14, Gonmyeong-myeon and Dongseogeum-dong on January 15, Beolyong-dong and Gonyang-myeon on January 16, Chukdong-myeon and Hyangchon-dong on January 20, Sanam-myeon and Seongu-dong on January 21, Dongseo-dong and Yonghyeon-myeon on January 22, and Jeongdong-myeon and Sacheon-eup on January 23.
Mayor Park stated, "The empathy and participation of citizens are more important than anything else for the completion of 'Sacheon, the Aerospace Capital of Korea.' I believe this tour will serve as an opportunity to enhance understanding of municipal affairs and to explore directions for development together."
