Former Head of Construction at Korea District Heating Corporation
"Securing Momentum for Projects such as the Southwest District Energy Construction"
Seoul Energy Corporation (President Hwang Boyeon) announced on January 10 that it has appointed Seungshin Kwak, former Head of Construction at Korea District Heating Corporation, as Head of the District Energy Division. The appointment took effect on January 9, and the term is three years.

Head Kwak joined Korea District Heating Corporation in 1992 through open recruitment and has worked in various fields for 34 years, including the Construction Department, Audit Office, and Research Institute. He has built expertise in the district energy sector, serving as Head of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch and Head of the Construction Division.
In particular, during his tenure as Head of Construction, he was recognized for his capabilities by successfully completing expansion and construction projects for district energy facilities in Yangsan, Daegu·Cheongju, and Sejong. He also promoted research and development (R&D) projects while working at the Technical Research Institute. The corporation expects that this appointment will help secure momentum for advancing its core district energy business.
Head Kwak stated, "There are various pressing issues, such as the Southwest District Energy Construction Project, modernization of heat source facilities, and establishing a safety management system for heat transmission pipelines, but we will overcome them together through teamwork."
Seoul Energy Corporation is a municipal enterprise operated by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to support the city’s energy self-sufficiency, running district energy projects that produce heat and electricity simultaneously, as well as promoting and expanding renewable energy.
