According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the expected snowfall is 3 to 8 centimeters in eastern Gyeonggi Province; 1 to 5 centimeters in western Gyeonggi Province, northern inland and northeastern mountainous areas of North Gyeongsang Province; around 1 to 3 centimeters in Seoul and Incheon; and about 1 centimeter in Daegu, central inland North Gyeongsang Province, and the northern east coast of North Gyeongsang Province.
From January 9 to 10, 3 to 10 centimeters of snow is expected in inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province, with more than 15 centimeters possible in some northern inland and mountainous regions of Gangwon. From January 10 to 11, the expected snowfall is 1 to 5 centimeters in Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong Province, and central and southern North Chungcheong Province; 2 to 7 centimeters in the eastern southern coast of South Jeolla Province and northern North Chungcheong Province; and 5 to 15 centimeters in Gwangju, South Jeolla Province (excluding the eastern southern coast), North Jeolla Province, and mountainous areas of Jeju Island. In some areas, including the western coast and southern inland of North Jeolla Province and the western coast of South Jeolla Province, more than 20 centimeters of snow may accumulate.
The expected precipitation is 5 to 10 millimeters in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi Province; less than 5 millimeters on the east coast of Gangwon Province and in northern inland and northeastern mountainous areas of North Gyeongsang Province; and around 1 millimeter in Daegu, central inland North Gyeongsang Province, the east coast of North Gyeongsang Province, and central inland South Gyeongsang Province.
The morning low is forecast to be between -2 and 8 degrees Celsius, and the daytime high between 2 and 12 degrees Celsius.
Waves on the sea will range from 1.0 to 3.5 meters in the coastal waters of the East Sea, West Sea, and South Sea. In the outer seas (up to about 200 kilometers from the coastline), wave heights are expected to be 1.5 to 5.5 meters in the East Sea and 1.5 to 5.0 meters in the West Sea and South Sea.
