The Dueul Scholarship Foundation is the first women's scholarship foundation in Korea. It was established in January 2000 by the late Lee Inhee, former advisor of Hansol Group and eldest daughter of the late Park Dueul, in honor of her mother's will. Park Dueul was the wife of the late Lee Byungchul, founder of Samsung Group, who was deeply interested in scholarship programs and supporting those in need. The foundation was jointly funded by the extended Samsung family, including Samsung, Hansol, CJ, and Shinsegae, and celebrates its 26th anniversary this year.
Over the past 26 years, the Dueul Scholarship Foundation has awarded approximately 12.3 billion won in scholarships to 730 university students. Selected scholarship recipients receive full tuition support and a set amount of personal development funds each semester, along with access to various educational programs.

Starting with the 28th class of scholarship recipients, the eligibility criteria were expanded to include students enrolled at any four-year university nationwide. As a result, more than twice as many students applied compared to last year. It is reported that more than half of the final recipients are students majoring in science and engineering fields.
The continued support from the extended Samsung family has been the driving force behind the Dueul Scholarship Foundation's efforts to nurture future female leaders. At the end of last year, Hong Rahee, Honorary Director of the Leeum Museum of Art, donated 1 billion won, CJ Olive Young contributed 200 million won, and CJ CheilJedang donated 100 million won. Chairwoman Lee Bujin also contributed 1 billion won of her own funds last year and again this year.
