37 Projects in Food Crops, Horticulture and Specialty Crops, and Environmental Livestock Sectors
Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province is accepting applications for participants in the "Technology Dissemination Pilot Project" aimed at responding to climate change and promoting the spread of smart agriculture technologies, until January 31.
The pilot project is divided into three sectors: food crops, horticulture and specialty crops, and environmental livestock. A total of 37 projects will be implemented, with a budget of 6.4 billion KRW allocated.
In the food crops sector, the focus is on applying low-carbon agricultural technologies and improving production efficiency, with the goal of alleviating the practical burdens of farming. Key initiatives include seedling automation, improvement of paddy field water management, dissemination of labor-saving agricultural machinery, and the establishment of high-quality rice production complexes.
The horticulture and specialty crops sector will prioritize responding to climate change and advancing facility agriculture. Projects will include smart farm-based environmental control technologies, recirculating hydroponics, lighting and temperature reduction technologies, labor-saving technologies, and the development of new high-income crops.
In the environmental livestock sector, artificial intelligence (AI)-based livestock anomaly detection technology will be introduced on a trial basis to enhance the efficiency of livestock management and strengthen early response systems for livestock diseases.
Eligible applicants are farmers, agricultural corporations, and producer organizations based in Pyeongtaek City. Interested parties can apply by visiting the Technology Dissemination Division of the Pyeongtaek City Agricultural Technology Center or their local agricultural counseling office.
