On January 9, Yeoncheon County announced that, starting with Jeongok-eup on the 8th and continuing until the 20th, it will be conducting the "2026 Dialogue with Residents" tour across 10 towns and townships within the county. This event is designed to share the direction of county administration and to bring together residents and officials to address longstanding local issues.

The first session was held on this day at the Jeongok-eup Administrative Welfare Center, attended by about 100 local residents and officials.

During the event, participants discussed the status of handling suggestions made during the 2025 Dialogue with Residents, as well as exchanged opinions on new suggestions for 2026.

There were a total of 26 suggestions for 2025: 10 were resolved, 4 are under mid- to long-term review, 1 was referred to another agency, and 11 were deemed unfeasible.

New suggestions for 2026 included the need for undergrounding power lines in downtown Jeongok-eup, improving traffic congestion at the National Route 3 intersection, enhancing support for elementary school student commutes, and resolving inconveniences related to parking and alleyway access-many of which are closely related to daily life.

Regarding the undergrounding of power lines, Yeoncheon County explained that it has applied for project funding for the section from Jeongok Gas Station to Jeongok 4-ri Community Center and plans to proceed step by step in cooperation with relevant agencies.

For the traffic congestion issue, the county stated it would consult with the relevant national land management agency to review improvement measures. Regarding student commutes, it said it would comprehensively review related requirements in line with the intent to guarantee commuting rights.

Additional opinions were raised on various local issues, including preparations for selection as a Peace Economic Special Zone, the shortage of parking spaces, and difficulties with access on village roads.

Yeoncheon County plans to review the submitted suggestions by department and address them sequentially, and will continue to gather on-site opinions to make ongoing administrative efforts to resolve local issues.
