Now in its fourth year of operation, the Policy Monitoring Team consists of citizens from four regions: the old downtown, Misa, Gam-il, and Wirye. The team serves as a 'citizen participation communication channel,' gathering local public opinion and conducting on-site inspections to propose region-specific policies.
At the meeting, Hanam City shared updates and future plans for major projects, including the status of the first general hospital (Yonsei Hanam Hospital) opening, the Camp Colbern development project, the Gyosan New Town development plan, the construction of the K-Culture Complex (K-Star World), and the progress and plans for the extension of subway lines 3, 9, and the Wirye-Sinsa Line.
During the subsequent regional monitoring reports, citizens presented issues related to daily life that they had monitored themselves. Key items reported included: ▲ Old downtown: inconvenience in using bus stop 28-059 ▲ Misa: construction of the Hwangsan Forest deck road and improvements to the Seondong IC expansion project ▲ Gam-il: opening of Bangadari-gil, among others.
The city plans to actively reflect the on-site monitoring results and improvement requests identified at this meeting in city administration after thorough review by the relevant departments.
Mayor Lee Hyun-jae stated, "The Policy Monitoring Team is the most valuable channel for directly conveying citizens' voices to city administration," and added, "I ask for continued active monitoring and bridging efforts so that the city's major policies can be properly implemented from the citizens' perspective."
