Han Donghoon Files Complaint Against People Power Party Audit Chief: "Fabricated Audit Results Released"

Party Member Bulletin Board Controversy Deepens
Ethics Committee Under Jang Donghyuk Holds First Meeting Today

Former People Power Party leader Han Donghoon has filed a criminal complaint against Lee Hosun, chairman of the party affairs audit committee, alleging that Lee fabricated and released the results of an audit related to the so-called party member bulletin board controversy.

On January 9, Han's side issued a statement saying, "Yesterday, we submitted a criminal complaint to the police against Chairman Lee for defamation by spreading false information, violation of the Personal Information Protection Act, and obstruction of business regarding the People Power Party. This is because he released audit results that were manipulated to make it appear as if posts written by completely different individuals had been authored by Han or his family."

The statement continued, "The party affairs audit fabricated by Chairman Lee is a clear political operation and a crime. We will take equally stern action against anyone who spreads Lee Hosun's false claims or those behind them."

Previously, the party affairs audit committee officially confirmed Han's responsibility regarding the party member bulletin board incident and submitted the results to the Central Ethics Committee. The committee explained, "The problematic accounts were registered under the names of five members of Han's family, and 87.6% of the posts were created from just two internet protocol (IP) addresses, indicating evidence of public opinion manipulation. Through digital pattern analysis, we confirmed that Han bears at least managerial responsibility."

In response, Han immediately rejected the findings as "fabricated audit results." He claimed that hundreds of posts not written by his family were falsely attributed to them by changing the names before the announcement.

Meanwhile, under the new leadership of Jang Donghyuk, the People Power Party's Ethics Committee is scheduled to hold its first meeting this afternoon to discuss disciplinary measures against former leader Han Donghoon and former Supreme Council member Kim Jonghyuk.
