The Wanju County Central Library in Jeonbuk is recruiting members for the "2026 Book Reading Cultural Sharing Group," which will visit culturally marginalized groups such as children, the elderly, and people with disabilities to provide them with warm reading experiences.
According to Wanju County in Jeonbuk on January 9, the "Book Reading Cultural Sharing Group" is a mobile reading culture sharing initiative that connects generations and neighbors through books. The core of the program is to visit locations with limited cultural access, offering storytelling and book play activities to create opportunities for emotional exchange.
A total of 20 members will be recruited, and applications are open until January 16. Selected members will complete a total of 16 specialized pre-training sessions from February to March. The training focuses on strengthening practical on-site capabilities, such as storytelling methods tailored to each audience and planning book play activities.
Residents who wish to participate can check the details on the Wanju County Central Library website and apply either by visiting the library or by email.
Members who complete the training will begin field activities in April, visiting 20 facilities for children, the elderly, and people with disabilities within the county, continuing their work through November.
Lee Kwanwoo, Director of the Wanju County Library Project Office, stated, "The Book Reading Cultural Sharing Group is a meaningful cultural sharing platform that fosters communication among neighbors through books," and added, "We hope many residents with a passion for reading and volunteering will show interest and participate."
