The animation "Darkmoon: Altar of the Moon," based on HYBE's original story intellectual property (IP), is set to be unveiled.
On January 9, HYBE announced that the animation "Darkmoon: Altar of the Moon," adapted from the webtoon of the same name, will be released on January 10 through four Japanese terrestrial channels, including Tokyo MX, as well as the Abema platform.
Starting January 13, it will also be available on 18 online video services (OTT) in Japan, including Netflix and Prime Video. In Korea, the animation channel Anibox will air it at 1:30 a.m. on January 10, and from 2:00 a.m., it will be accessible on 12 other channels, including Tving and Wavve.
In more than 80 regions worldwide, including North America and Europe, the animation streaming platform Crunchyroll will provide dubbed and subtitled versions in eight languages.
This project is produced by Aniplex and Troyca in Japan, based on the webtoon created in collaboration with the group Enhypen. The production features renowned staff, including director Shoko Shiga and voice actor Kikunousuke Toya. Kurosaki, a producer at Aniplex, stated, "It will be an exciting work that will satisfy global viewers."
To coincide with the release, large-scale outdoor advertisements are being displayed in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, and Shibuya, Tokyo. From January 12, teaser videos will be shown on the electronic billboards in Times Square, New York, and a special exhibition will be held at Animate's main store in Tokyo. Naver Webtoon and Series will host a two-week event offering free access to the original webtoon and web novel.
A HYBE representative commented, "This is a significant advancement in expanding content formats," adding, "We will continue to broaden our formats to provide fans with new experiences."
