Applications Accepted on Onbid from January 12 to 20
On January 9, Gimpo City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will conduct a paid sale of station name sub-naming rights for one station (Gurae Station) on the Gimpo Gold Line, where the contract period ends in February 2026.
Station name sub-naming refers to adding the names of major public institutions or multi-use facilities-such as public organizations, schools, hospitals, or large shopping centers-located near a station to the existing station name on station signs, information facilities, route maps, and in-train announcements, in order to enhance recognition of these institutions and provide convenience to railway users. This is a form of advertising.
This round of applications is open to institutions located within approximately a 1-kilometer radius of the station that do not raise concerns about public morals or the city’s image and require public guidance. Gimpo City plans to select one institution per station, among those that meet the eligibility requirements, by awarding the rights to the institution that submits the highest bid above the base price.
The city also encouraged interested institutions to visit the site if possible to check the location of the sub-naming signage, and to thoroughly review the eligibility criteria and business feasibility outlined in the bid notice before participating in the bidding process.
The bid announcement for this project will be available on Onbid starting January 12, and institutions or companies wishing to apply must submit their application and bid documents by January 20.
