The city announced that it will hold the '2026 Major Business Plan Reporting Meeting' from January 8 to January 22.

This reporting meeting aims to create a self-sustaining city that embodies growth, change, innovation, and harmony, based on the practical values of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong. The event is designed to focus the city's administrative capabilities on producing policy outcomes that citizens can truly experience.

Notably, starting this year, the reporting meeting has adopted an 'on-site reporting' approach. Instead of the traditional city hall meeting room format, the meetings are held directly at the sites of major projects. This reflects Mayor Joo Gwangdeok's administrative philosophy of implementing citizen-centered governance by identifying inconveniences and seeking solutions on the ground.

To enhance communication within the organization, not only department heads but also newly appointed public officials for 2025 and administrative staff will attend the reporting meeting. This will help them understand and align with the city's administrative philosophy.

The approach to internal communication has also become more youthful. In this year's reporting meeting, a large number of newly appointed officials for 2025 and practical administrative staff will participate alongside department heads. The goal is to foster a 'One-Team' culture, where young officials hear the city's philosophy firsthand, empathize with it, and the entire city administration moves forward together toward a unified goal.

The city has designated this year as a leap forward toward completing the 'Namyangju-Style Self-Sustaining City,' planning to strengthen self-sufficiency through the development of future industries and infrastructure, and to expand policies that citizens can tangibly experience.

Key projects include: △ hosting Namyangju City's first-ever investment attraction briefing session △ creating the (tentatively named) Jeong Yak-yong Park utilizing the upper space above the railway △ commencing construction of Suseok Bridge △ completing the Pyeongnae Sports and Culture Center △ and advancing the Dasan Jeong Yak-yong brand.

In addition, newly established teams such as the Commercial District Support Center Team and the Youth Affairs Office are expected to present blueprints for revitalizing local commercial areas and launching youth-focused projects, enabling citizens to experience change close to home.

This reporting meeting will be conducted in a practical and substantive manner, with an overall report on the direction of business operations by each department, and team leaders presenting one key project each through a PowerPoint presentation. For towns and districts, the plan is to identify and report specialized policies tailored to local conditions, thereby strengthening the identity of each region.

Mayor Joo Gwangdeok stated, "2026 is a crucial year for delivering tangible results from the 8th popularly elected administration and solidifying Namyangju's unique identity. We will move beyond formal reporting to capture the voices from the field, and all public officials will work as one team to complete the 'Namyangju-Style Self-Sustaining City.'"
