Chulshik Lee of Gyeongbuk Provincial Assembly Wins Grand Prize for Outstanding Ordinance at Manifesto Promise Awards

Chulshik Lee, a member of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Assembly (People Power Party, Gyeongsan 4), announced on January 8 that he has received the Grand Prize for Excellence in the “Outstanding Ordinance” category at the 17th Manifesto Promise Awards for Local Assembly Members 2025, organized by the Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters.

This award is presented to the legislative case with the most outstanding achievements in the field, and officially recognizes Assemblyman Lee's policy capabilities and legislative completeness. The Manifesto Promise Awards are prestigious national awards given to local government heads and assembly members who have contributed to the development of local autonomy and community innovation, based on a comprehensive evaluation of pledge fulfillment, policy implementation results, and legislative effectiveness.

In this year’s evaluation, Assemblyman Chulshik Lee received the highest marks in the field for his thorough attention to local issues, his field-oriented and problem-solving legislative activities, as well as his policy proposals and legislative efforts to address the structural limitations of agriculture in Gyeongbuk.

In particular, the “Gyeongsangbuk-do Ordinance on the Promotion and Support of Joint Agricultural Management Entities,” which Assemblyman Lee sponsored, was recognized as a legislative case that achieved tangible results by establishing an institutional foundation to support the sustainability of agriculture and stabilize farm household incomes.

In his acceptance speech, Assemblyman Chulshik Lee stated, “Fostering joint agricultural management entities is a key task for enhancing the future competitiveness of Gyeongbuk agriculture,” and added, “I believe this award is the result of legislative efforts rooted in the voices of the field being recognized as a model case.”

He continued, “I will continue to address the realities of agriculture and rural communities, and will consistently identify and develop policies and ordinances that provide practical benefits to the development of Gyeongsan, the Gyeongbuk region, and the lives of local residents. I will do my best to ensure that Gyeongbuk agriculture becomes a sustainable and competitive industry.”
