Korea Investment & Securities Launches Profit-and-Loss Differential "Global AI Innovation Industry Fund"

Korea Investment & Securities announced on January 8 that it will be the exclusive distributor of the profit-and-loss differential public fund, the "Korea Investment Global AI Innovation Industry Fund."

The Korea Investment Global AI Innovation Industry Fund selectively invests in domestic and international stocks that are leading global innovative growth. It is a public fund that makes indirect investments in seven underlying private equity funds focused on AI semiconductors, energy infrastructure, digital finance, consumer platforms, biotechnology, AI robotics, and aerospace. The fund is managed by Korea Investment Management.

This fund is structured so that customers have senior priority, while Korea Investment Holdings and its affiliates take a subordinated position. Even if losses occur in the underlying funds, the company will absorb losses up to -15% first. Conversely, if profits are generated in the underlying funds, returns up to 10% will be shared between customers and the company at a ratio of 85:15. For profits exceeding a 10% return, the split will be 55:45. The fund has a three-year investment period, but if the return reaches 15% before maturity, it will be redeemed early. If the redemption condition is met within one year of inception, early redemption will occur after the minimum holding period of one year has passed.

Yang Wontak, Head of Investment Products at Korea Investment & Securities, stated, "With market expectations for growth stocks, including the AI industry, remaining high, we believe the profit-and-loss differential structure of this product can enhance investment safety for our clients. We plan to continue introducing a variety of products to improve client investment returns in the future."
