Uijeongbu City Appoints 'Village Tax Accountants' as Tax Solution Experts... Free Consultations for Two Years

Uijeongbu City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Donggeun) appointed the "6th Village Tax Accountants" on January 7 to support citizens who have difficulty accessing tax consultations due to financial circumstances, and has officially launched the program.

The Village Tax Accountant system is a program in which tax accountants voluntarily offer their expertise to provide free tax consultations to small business owners and vulnerable groups who lack tax knowledge or are burdened by high consultation fees. The city has been operating this system consistently since its first launch in 2016.

The newly appointed 6th Village Tax Accountants include a total of four tax accountants (Lee Hyowon, Yoon Seokjin, Kim Dongwon, and Lee Kanghyun), who will serve as tax advisors for citizens throughout Uijeongbu City for two years, from January 2026 to December 2027.

An official from Uijeongbu City stated, "We are grateful to the tax accountants who have volunteered their talents for the benefit of citizens despite challenging circumstances," adding, "We hope that the Village Tax Accountant system will continue to serve as a practical communication channel that provides real assistance to citizens struggling with tax issues."
