On January 8, the county announced plans to introduce payments via KakaoPay and Naver Pay within the first quarter of this year, aiming to enhance the convenience of using the local currency.

This measure is intended to address the limitations of the existing single KB Pay payment system and to respond to changes in the consumer environment where simple payment methods have become commonplace.

The county plans to establish a payment structure that does not rely on a specific payment method, thereby expanding user choice and improving accessibility and convenience.

With this expansion of payment methods, users will be able to register the Inje Chaeweo Dream Card with KakaoPay and Naver Pay, making it possible to use the local currency for payments without a physical card.

The county expects that allowing residents to use their preferred simple payment apps will significantly enhance perceived convenience.

However, simple payment can only be used at affiliated stores equipped with terminals that support KakaoPay or Naver Pay payments.

Currently, Inje County’s local currency offers a 15% discount benefit within a monthly limit of 1 million won per person. Of this, up to 950,000 won per month can be purchased as the Inje Chaeweo Dream Card, and up to 50,000 won per month as the paper-type Inje Love Gift Certificate.

As of December last year, there were 2,754 affiliated stores accepting the Inje Chaeweo Dream Card, and the total amount used throughout 2025 reached 46.5 billion won.

The county plans to use this expansion of payment methods as an opportunity to further vitalize the use of local currency by enhancing not only discount benefits but also user convenience.

In particular, accessibility is expected to improve for young people and mobile consumers who are accustomed to simple payment methods, while affiliated stores will also benefit from improved operational convenience by being able to offer a wider range of payment options.

Inje County plans to complete system integration and stability checks and implement the service within the first quarter. Detailed usage instructions and precautions will be provided separately in line with the launch of the service.

A county official stated, "We have improved the local currency payment structure to adapt to changes in the consumer environment," adding, "We will continue to make improvements so that the Inje Chaeweo Dream Card is convenient for residents to use and can make a meaningful contribution to revitalizing the local economy."
