[CES 2026]SWM Partners with Lenovo and Nvidia: "Robotaxi Commercialization Set for 2027"

Tripartite Agreement Signed at 2026 CES

South Korean autonomous driving company SWM has joined forces with global IT giants Lenovo and Nvidia to officially begin the development and mass production of the high-performance autonomous driving computing platform, 'AP-700.' Through this tripartite collaboration, the companies aim to commercialize Level 4 robotaxi services in Seoul and Gwangju by 2027.

On January 7 (local time), SWM signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Lenovo and Nvidia for the development of autonomous driving technology at the 2026 CES held in Las Vegas, USA.

The AP-700 is an innovative autonomous driving system powered by Nvidia's latest in-vehicle computing platform, 'Drive AGX Thor.' By combining dual 'Drive AGX Thor' chips with Lenovo's 'AD1 L4 Autonomous Driving Domain Controller' technology, the platform delivers overwhelming AI computing performance of up to 2,000 TOPS and data center-level CPU capabilities.

Safety has also been significantly enhanced. The AP-700 is designed to meet the world's highest automotive safety standards. By utilizing generative AI and Vision Language Models (VLM), it achieves ultra-low latency responses at the millisecond level even in complex urban traffic environments, greatly improving system stability and reliability.

SWM aims to reduce autonomous driving software development costs by 50% and shorten the preparation period for Level 4 robotaxi commercialization by 40% through the introduction of the AP-700. Furthermore, the company plans to lower the mass production cost of robotaxis by up to 60%, dramatically lowering the barriers to large-scale commercial services.

SWM plans to apply this platform as the core controller for Level 4 robotaxis scheduled for release in 2026, with the goal of providing commercial autonomous driving services in Seoul and Gwangju by 2027. SWM stated, "This collaboration marks a signal for Korean robotaxi technology to advance into the global market."
