Steep Slope Maintenance Including Rockfall Prevention Scheduled for Completion in January
Jinju City in South Gyeongsang Province is drawing attention for strengthening safety and reorganizing the landscape lighting of 'Saebyeori Road,' the gateway to Jinju, transforming it into a beautiful nighttime attraction.
The city plans to carry out follow-up projects, such as reinstalling nighttime landscape lighting, as the 'Saebyeori Steep Slope Maintenance Project,' which aims to ensure citizens' safety and create a pleasant road environment, enters its final stage.
This project was initiated to prevent the risk of slope collapse in advance and to provide a safe passage environment for citizens using the section by vehicle or on foot.
In addition, once the maintenance of the steep slope is completed, the temporarily removed landscape lighting will be improved and reorganized to present an even more splendid nighttime view.

◆ 'Saebyeori Steep Slope Maintenance Project' Scheduled for Completion in January
Jinju City plans to complete the 'Saebyeori Steep Slope Maintenance Project' for approximately 520 meters of Saebyeori Road, a major arterial road connecting Juak-dong and Gajwa-dong, within January.
The project, which began in August last year, was undertaken to prevent rockfall risks from the rock slopes and safety accidents due to aging facilities on Saebyeori Road, thereby enhancing the safety of road users.
With this, following the completion of the steep slope maintenance project on 'Dwi-byeori' last year, the city is now in the final stages of the 'Saebyeori' steep slope maintenance, aiming for completion in January this year, steadily working toward creating a safe and pleasant road environment.
The 'Saebyeori Steep Slope Maintenance Project,' with a total budget of approximately 500 million won, focuses on the intensive maintenance of aging safety facilities, such as the removal of trees (obstructive trees), replacement of rockfall prevention nets, and replacement of rockfall prevention fences, which is expected to significantly improve safety in the area.
◆ Saebyeori Road to Become a New Nighttime Landmark
Once the steep slope maintenance is completed, the city plans to improve and reinstall the temporarily removed Saebyeori landscape lighting in harmony with the surrounding natural terrain, establishing it as a new nighttime landmark.
In particular, while the previous lighting effects were limited by existing trees and obstacles, the completion of the maintenance project will allow the city to highlight Saebyeori's unique rock formations and scenic views in a more grand and colorful way through improved landscape lighting.
Through these efforts, the city plans to complete the upgraded nighttime landscape, which combines both safety and aesthetics, by March and present it to citizens.
Jinju City will continue to prioritize citizen safety in its infrastructure maintenance while also pursuing the ongoing creation of nighttime landscapes to realize its vision of 'Jinju, a city beautiful even at night.'
