Siheung City Accepting Applications for Subsidy Support for Aging Apartment Complexes Until February 13

This project provides partial financial support for the repair and renovation of common facilities in apartment complexes that have been in use for more than 15 years since completion.

The city will allocate a total budget of 436 million won to the selected complexes, covering 50% to 70% of the costs required for the maintenance and management of communal facilities. Eligible facilities include: ▲ repair of internal roads and streetlights within the complex ▲ management of water supply and drainage systems ▲ repair and renovation of playgrounds and senior community centers ▲ repair of stone retaining walls and embankments ▲ repair of facilities for people with disabilities ▲ installation or replacement of security CCTV ▲ repair or replacement of elevators, among others.

This year, the city has expanded the scope of support to include facilities for electric vehicle fire prevention and safety, as well as the establishment of emergency disaster alert management systems.

However, apartment complexes that have received subsidies within the past five years, those that have received approval for the establishment of a reconstruction association, and rental housing where less than two-thirds of the units have been converted to ownership are excluded from eligibility.

Complexes wishing to apply should visit the Housing Division at Siheung City Hall to submit an application. The city will conduct a document review and a Subsidy Management Committee evaluation to select the recipients between March and April. For more details, please refer to the announcement section on the Siheung City Hall website or contact the Housing Management Team at the Housing Division.

Meanwhile, during the same period, the city is also accepting applications for the "Support Project for Improving Rest Facilities for Apartment Security and Cleaning Workers." This project aims to guarantee the basic right to rest for security and cleaning staff in apartment complexes and to improve their poor working conditions.

Eligible applicants are apartment complexes with 20 or more units built under the "Housing Act" or the "Urban and Residential Environment Improvement Act." Support includes the establishment of new rest facilities, physical renovation of existing facilities, and replacement or purchase of equipment for rest areas.

The maximum support amount is 5 million won per rest facility for security or cleaning workers. Complexes that have previously received support for only one type of rest facility-either for security or cleaning staff-may apply for additional support.

The city plans to prioritize complexes with higher scores based on the age of the buildings and the expected effectiveness of improvements.
