Acquisition of Grand Hyatt Incheon West Tower Completed
New Beginning as Hyatt Regency Incheon Paradise City
Official Opening in March
Paradise Sega Sammy, the operator of Paradise City, a comprehensive resort located in Yeongjongdo, Incheon, announced on January 8 that the West Tower, one of the two towers of Grand Hyatt Incheon, will be relaunched as Hyatt Regency Incheon Paradise City.
Previously, on September 24 last year, Paradise Sega Sammy signed a contract to acquire the Grand Hyatt Incheon West Tower from Kal Hotel Network, a subsidiary of Hanjin Group, for 210 billion won. The newly branded hotel is scheduled to open in March after undergoing interior renovations and environmental improvements.
Hyatt Regency Incheon Paradise City sits on a land area of approximately 16,000 square meters (about 5,000 pyeong) and houses 501 rooms. With this acquisition, Paradise City will now offer a total of 1,270 rooms, combining the existing main hotel, the luxury boutique hotel Art Paradiso, and the newly acquired property.
Hyatt currently operates over 1,450 hotels and resorts in 82 countries worldwide. Guests can earn World of Hyatt membership rewards at Hyatt hotels around the globe. Paradise expects to create synergy in attracting international guests by leveraging Hyatt’s global customer base and strong brand recognition. The company also anticipates increased demand for international conferences and various events held in the Yeongjongdo area.
A representative from Paradise Sega Sammy stated, “In line with the government’s goal of attracting 30 million international tourists, we expect significant synergy across various sectors-including accommodation, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), and gaming-through the collaboration between the global brand Hyatt and Paradise City, the first integrated resort in Northeast Asia. As a leading integrated resort located in Incheon, the gateway to Korea, Paradise City will do its utmost to contribute to the development of Korea’s tourism industry through this acquisition.”
Meanwhile, the existing East Tower will continue to operate under the Grand Hyatt Incheon brand by Kal Hotel Network.
