Strengthening the Safety Net for Direct Real Estate Transactions
Carrot announced on January 8 that its real estate service, Carrot Real Estate, has introduced the 'Safe Remittance' service.
The Safe Remittance service is designed to help users securely send and receive payments such as deposits during real estate transactions. It was introduced to ensure transaction safety by verifying whether the property owner and the account holder for the deposit match in the initial stage of the contract, and to reduce the risk of potential remittance accidents.

The Safe Remittance service is only available for direct transactions involving properties whose owners have completed verification. Instead of the buyer sending the deposit directly to the seller, the system requires the buyer to first deposit the funds into a virtual account at NH Nonghyup Bank designated by Carrot.
The service is accessed through individual chat rooms between users within the Carrot app. After the buyer and seller agree on the transaction terms and deposit amount, the buyer simply clicks the 'Safe Remittance' button in the chat room. Both buyer and seller must complete identity verification. If the seller's account is restricted due to fraudulent activity, the seller will be unable to receive the remittance, and the payment will be automatically refunded to the buyer.
A Carrot representative stated, "Carrot Real Estate will continue to do its best to create a trustworthy real estate transaction culture so that users can search for homes in their neighborhoods with peace of mind."
