First, Paju City was selected as an "Excellent" institution in the "Korea Renewal" evaluation organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, securing 50 million won in incentive funds.

This evaluation, conducted ahead of the APEC Summit, was designed to assess the public's perception of cleaning and environmental maintenance performance by local governments nationwide. Paju City received high marks for strengthening environmental maintenance in key residential areas and multi-use facilities, intensifying the collection of abandoned waste, and improving waste management blind spots, all as part of its on-site cleaning administration.

The city believes that its efforts to carry out maintenance activities in cooperation with local organizations in all towns, townships, and neighborhoods have led to these significant achievements.

In the "Creating a Clean Gyeonggi" evaluation, organized by Gyeonggi Province, Paju City was also selected as an "Excellent" institution for the seventh consecutive year since 2019, securing an additional 30 million won in incentive funds. To date, the city has secured a total of 730 million won in incentive funds through this evaluation. The evaluation comprehensively assesses the implementation of resource circulation policies, such as reducing household waste and promoting recycling. Paju City continues to deliver steady results by expanding citizen participation and enhancing on-site execution.

Shim Jaewoo, Head of the Resource Circulation Division, stated, "These achievements are the result of our on-site cleaning administration and citizen participation-based resource circulation policies being recognized externally. We will continue our efforts to create a clean Paju by reducing household waste and promoting recycling."

Meanwhile, the city is accelerating the establishment of future-oriented resource circulation infrastructure. It is currently pursuing the "Environmental Circulation Center Modernization Project," which converts organic waste into biogas, in conjunction with the "Mini Hydrogen City Project," which produces clean hydrogen energy using the generated biogas.

Additionally, to promote recycling, the city is supplying reusable cups to all departments of Paju City Hall, including those in towns, townships, and neighborhoods, and is working to reduce the use of disposable products and expand resource circulation practices. Through these efforts, the city aims to realize energy conversion from waste resources and strengthen a recycling-oriented resource circulation system, with the goal of becoming a "leading carbon-neutral city."
