The Namyangju City Council in Gyeonggi Province (Chairman Jo Seongdae) attended the 2026 New Year's Social Welfare Meeting held at the Gyeonggi Viewer Media Center in Dasan-dong on January 7, encouraging social welfare officials dedicated to the development of local welfare.

Hosted by the Namyangju City Social Welfare Council, the event was attended by more than 100 people, including Lee Kyungsuk, Chair of the Welfare and Environment Committee; Park Yunok, Vice Chair of the Welfare and Environment Committee; Assemblywoman Jeon Hyeyeon; Namyangju Mayor Joo Gwangdeok; provincial council members; and heads of local social welfare facilities, organizations, and institutions. The program included introductions of distinguished guests, New Year's greetings and well-wishes, a rice cake cutting ceremony, commemorative photo sessions, and a reception.

Park Yunok, Vice Chair of the Welfare and Environment Committee, said, "I sincerely thank all social welfare workers who have warmly embraced many neighbors in desperate need, despite the challenging circumstances over the past year."

She continued, "Social welfare workers must be happy in order for welfare recipients to share in that happiness. Our city council is continuously communicating with the social welfare sector to improve the treatment of welfare professionals. We will do our utmost to create better working conditions for social welfare workers and to incorporate your valuable suggestions into our policies, so that welfare blind spots in our city can be minimized."
