Sung Sugun, former First Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, has been appointed as the inaugural chairman of the Golfin Association.

On January 7, Golfin announced, "At the 2026 regular general meeting held at the Seoul Club in Jung-gu, Seoul, on January 5, former First Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Sung Sugun, was appointed as chairman." Chairman Sung previously served as First Vice Minister and Acting Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and was awarded the Order of Service Merit, Red Stripes, in 2002. Chairman Sung stated, "The value of golf as a sport is immense," adding, "I will take the lead in creating a sustainable golf culture that all generations can relate to and enjoy."


Golfin is an association founded in 2024 by dedicated golf enthusiasts with the goal of creating a sustainable golf culture. Golfin revealed its future plans, stating, "We will strengthen public-interest golf education and events, and continue to host forums and seminars to support the golf industry, which has faced difficulties since the COVID-19 pandemic."
