On this day, Governor Shin Youngjae visited the parking lot area along the Hongcheon River, the festival venue, to review the main facilities with officials and received briefings on overall event operations and safety management measures. Additionally, a field inspection was conducted focusing on key facilities such as food booths, experience zones, the event stage, as well as electrical and fire safety installations.
In particular, Governor Shin personally checked the core area of the festival, the frozen section of the river, measuring the ice quality and thickness with equipment to ensure that the freezing safety standards for visitor protection were met.
Governor Shin emphasized, "As this is a winter water freezing festival, it is especially important to conduct thorough pre-inspections for cold waves, slip accidents, and freezing safety," and requested, "Please ensure continuous monitoring of ice conditions and facility safety so visitors can enjoy the festival with peace of mind, and make every effort in on-site management and safety measures."
Meanwhile, Hongcheon County plans to frequently inspect the ice conditions throughout the event period in preparation for falling winter temperatures, operate a visitor lounge in an indoor area near the ticket booth, and deploy safety personnel on-site to prevent accidents. The county also intends to strengthen order maintenance and emergency response systems, taking into account the large number of visitors expected at the event.
