Jangheung County in Jeollanam-do is set to actively promote its employment program for people with disabilities from the beginning of the new year, aiming to expand social participation and establish a foundation for their independence.
On January 7, Jangheung County announced that it launched the 2026 employment program for people with disabilities on January 2, investing a total of 1.2 billion won to provide customized jobs for 77 individuals.
This year's program includes 20 full-time positions, 21 part-time positions, 33 welfare jobs, and 3 placements for visually impaired massage therapists. The county has subdivided the roles, taking into account the type of disability and individual characteristics.
Participants will undergo safety, health, and basic skills training before being assigned to work at local institutions such as libraries, health centers, welfare centers, and sign language interpretation centers.
A county official stated, "Employment for people with disabilities is an important foundation for connecting with society," and added, "We will continue to provide support to ensure stable job performance."
