Visit to Yeongcheon J Hospital to Celebrate the First Baby's Birth and Encourage the Family
Yeongcheon City announced that on January 5, it visited the local obstetrics and gynecology clinic (Yeongcheon J Hospital) to celebrate the birth of the first baby of the Year of the Fire Horse 2026.
This year’s first baby was a healthy girl weighing 2.8 kg, born on January 1. Her prenatal nickname is 'Kkomi,' and she is the first child of Mr. Yeom and Ms. Kim, a couple residing in Seobu-dong.
Yeongcheon City visited the local maternity obstetrics and gynecology clinic (Yeongcheon J Hospital) on the 5th to celebrate the birth of the New Year's baby of the Year of the Fire Horse in 2026.
The mother, Ms. Kim, said, "I am delighted that our child was born as Yeongcheon City's first baby of 2026 and received so many congratulations. I hope she will continue to grow up healthy and upright."
On this day, the mayor of Yeongcheon, along with the head of the public health center, the director of the health management division, other city officials, and hospital staff, visited the family to celebrate the first birth of the new year and to extend their warm support.
Choi Kimoon, Mayor of Yeongcheon, stated, "I sincerely congratulate you on the birth of the first baby of the Year of the Fire Horse 2026, which marks the beginning of the new year. We will continue to strengthen support for childbirth and child-rearing, and strive to make Yeongcheon a city where all citizens can raise children with peace of mind."
