"Only Two IPs Used on Bulletin Board, a Typical Manipulation Tactic," Claims Ahn
"Focusing on Exchange Rates and Prices Over Martial Law and Impeachment"
Also Discusses Metropolitan Election Strategies with Oh Sehoon
Ahn Cheolsoo, a member of the People Power Party, has called for a judicial review regarding the controversy over the party member bulletin board involving former People Power Party leader Han Donghoon, stating, "Han himself must clarify the facts through direct legal action." Ahn particularly expressed concern that prolonged internal conflict could weaken the party’s capabilities, emphasizing the need to resolve the controversy swiftly.
On the 7th, Ahn stated on social media, "The party is being shaken by the recent disciplinary controversy surrounding former leader Han," adding, "This is an issue that Han himself must resolve." He continued, "More than 1,000 posts were made on the party member bulletin board using five IDs from just two IP addresses," and argued, "As someone who was a victim in the Druking manipulation case, I recognize this as a classic example of opinion manipulation." Ahn added, "The issue of identity theft is causing confusion throughout the party and increasing suspicions about an individual," and proposed, "I suggest that the matter be resolved cleanly through judicial judgment."
These remarks drew attention as they came immediately after Ahn’s dinner meeting with Seoul Mayor Oh Sehoon the previous day. On the 6th, Ahn and Mayor Oh held a private dinner at the Seoul Mayor’s residence in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, where they discussed party reform measures and metropolitan area strategies ahead of the June 3 local elections next year. Kim Byungmin, Deputy Mayor for Political Affairs of Seoul, who was present, stated, "The two agreed that the People Power Party must break away from its problematic past and reinvent itself as a competent, livelihood-focused party," adding, "They discussed ways to cooperate for victory in the local elections in Seoul and Gyeonggi metropolitan areas."

Recently, Ahn has been reinforcing livelihood-focused messages, separate from the internal conflict issues. After meeting with Mayor Oh, Ahn said, "All party members share a consensus on the need for innovation and change within the People Power Party. The only differences are in the methods to achieve this." He further stated, "Those in the party who felt responsible for martial law have apologized, and now we are at the stage of awaiting a judicial decision. I believe the verdict will be one that most citizens can agree with." He concluded, "Now, instead of talking about martial law, rebellion, or impeachment, we should focus more on issues like exchange rates, prices, and housing costs-real-life concerns. We must prove our competence by showing that we can restore people’s lives better than the Democratic Party." Some in the political sphere interpret Ahn’s recent statements as emphasizing principles during times of conflict, while also taking pragmatic steps aimed at the local elections as a senior party member and a key figure in the metropolitan area.
