Applicants must submit required materials, including an exhibition proposal and a portfolio of participating artists, online through the National Culture and Arts Support System. Detailed information about the call for applications and the exhibition proposal submission form can be found in the notices section of the official website of the Korea Arts Council.
The Korea Arts Council will conduct the first round of document screening in March for applications received by 6 p.m. on February 9, followed by a second round of interview evaluations in April, which will include a presentation of the exhibition plan and an interview. Based on this process, the final artistic director-either an individual or a team-will be selected, and the official result will be announced in May. The detailed schedule may be adjusted depending on the number of applicants and the review timeline.
The Venice Biennale is one of the world's largest international biennales, featuring an art exhibition in even-numbered years and an architecture exhibition in odd-numbered years. On November 26, the Venice Biennale Board announced that, based on the recommendation of President Pietrangelo Buttafuoco, Wang Shu and Liu Wenyu, co-founders of Amateur Architecture Studio, have been appointed as the general directors of the 20th International Architecture Exhibition.
The 20th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale will be held from May 8 to November 21, 2025, in the Castello Gardens and Arsenale areas of Venice, Italy.
