The National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives launched the "Fetal Registration Voucher Service" on January 7, 2026, for expectant parents who are due to give birth this year.
The "Fetal Registration Voucher Service" allows parents expecting a child to pre-register basic information about the fetus (such as the fetus's nickname and expected date of birth) before birth. After the child is born, they can open an account and receive a childbirth support benefit through this service.
To use the service, parents must register the fetus's basic information and open a deposit and withdrawal account (Sh Eolssu Parking Account) in the child's name through the "Our Child Account Opening Service" provided by Suhyup Partner Bank. Once the account is opened, the issued voucher can be used to immediately receive a childbirth support payment of 30,000 won.
This voucher service will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis to the first 3,000 customers who complete both the fetal registration and account opening process.
Eligible applicants are limited to children born in 2026. Both expectant parents and those who have already given birth in 2026 are eligible to apply.
Through this service, the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives aims to alleviate the initial financial burden on families preparing for childbirth and child-rearing, and to fulfill the financial sector's social responsibility in addressing the issue of low birth rates.
A representative from the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives stated, "We will continue to expand customized financial services tailored to every stage of our customers' lives, thereby realizing the value of inclusive finance."
