Iksan City in Jeonbuk is expanding its "Agri-food Voucher" program to support healthy meals for vulnerable groups, broadening its scope to include young people struggling with job preparation and related challenges.

According to Iksan City on January 7, the city will accept applications for the 2026 Agri-food Voucher program on a rolling basis until December this year through town, township, and neighborhood administrative welfare centers, as well as online, in order to improve food accessibility for low-income households.

The program targets households receiving basic livelihood benefits with an income at or below 32% of the median, specifically those that include pregnant women, infants, or children. Notably, starting this year, households that include young people-previously excluded from support-have been newly added as eligible recipients.

The amount of support varies according to household size, ranging from 40,000 won per month for a single-person household to 187,000 won per month for a ten-person household. The vouchers are recharged regularly every month, effectively reducing the food expenses of beneficiary households.

Existing users who meet the eligibility criteria will be automatically enrolled, while new applicants must apply in person at an administrative welfare center or directly through the official Agri-food Voucher website. The voucher can be used to purchase designated fresh agricultural products such as domestically produced fruits and vegetables, white milk, fresh eggs, and meat at specified stores.

An Iksan City official emphasized, "The Agri-food Voucher is an essential system that helps citizens maintain a balanced diet. As retroactive support is not available, we urge eligible households to apply promptly so they do not miss out on these benefits."
