The Jeongeup Citizens Scholarship Foundation has finalized the 2026 admission guidelines for the Jeongeup Scholarship Dormitory, a key base for local talent in the Seoul metropolitan area, and has officially begun the recruitment process.

According to the foundation on January 7, this recruitment aims to provide stable housing and a conducive study environment for students from Jeongeup who have entered universities in the Seoul metropolitan area. A total of 98 students will be selected for admission.

Located in Manan-gu, Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, the Jeongeup Scholarship Dormitory has a total floor area of 3,997 square meters and is fully equipped with amenities such as a reading room, cafeteria, and fitness center. Notably, it is close to Seoksu Station on Subway Line 1 and offers convenient access to KTX Gwangmyeong Station, providing excellent connectivity to major universities in the metropolitan area. The monthly fee ranges from 150,000 to 200,000 won, significantly reducing the financial burden on students.

The dormitory will admit 43 male and 55 female students. To be eligible, as of the announcement date, either the applicant or one of their parents must be registered as a resident of Jeongeup. First priority is given to freshmen and current students enrolled in universities (including graduate schools) in the metropolitan area. Second priority is given to students attending non-metropolitan universities who can commute, as well as job seekers preparing for employment within five years of graduation.

Selection is based on a combined score of academic performance (50 points) and living conditions (50 points). Additional points are awarded to children of national merit recipients, as well as to students from multi-child or multicultural families.

Applications can be submitted in person at the Jeongeup Citizens Scholarship Foundation or by email until February 3. The final results will be announced on the website on February 6, and selected students will begin moving in from February 19.

Lee Haksoo, Mayor of Jeongeup, stated, "The Jeongeup Scholarship Dormitory serves as a cradle that enables local talent to focus solely on their studies without worrying about housing," adding, "Through a fair and transparent selection process, we will welcome outstanding students who will lead the future of our region."
