According to AP Yonhap News and other sources on January 6 (local time), Attorney General Saab stated at a press conference held in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, that "a military operation conducted without a declaration of war or a United Nations Security Council resolution constitutes an illegal act of terrorism."

However, Attorney General Saab did not disclose the exact number of casualties or their nationalities. He announced that the prosecution would launch an investigation into the attack on Venezuelan territory that resulted in casualties, on charges of war crimes.

The New York Times, citing a senior Venezuelan official, reported that the death toll from the previous day's U.S. military strike had risen to 80, including President Maduro's security staff and civilians.

The Cuban government stated that 32 Cuban nationals were killed during the U.S. military operation to apprehend President Maduro.

Previously, on January 3, U.S. forces raided a safe house in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, apprehended President Maduro and his wife, and extradited them to the United States.
