Goseong County Completely Closes 'Misiryeong Old Road' Due to Heavy Snow and Icy Roads to Prevent Accidents

Goseong County Closes County Road No. 8 Misiryeong Old Road
Section from Misiryeong Old Road Summit to Delfino Three-way Intersection Closed
Detour Routes Recommended Until End of March Next Year

Goseong County in Gangwon Province has announced a complete closure of the section between the summit of Misiryeong Old Road and the Delfino three-way intersection in Toseong-myeon (6.6 km) to all vehicles and pedestrians until further notice. This measure is in response to the risk of traffic accidents caused by heavy snowfall and icy roads during the winter season.

For detours, drivers using County Road No. 8 (Misiryeong Old Road) should take Local Road No. 56 (Misiryeong Tunnel, toward Seoul and Inje), while those in Ganseong-eup on National Road No. 7 should use National Road No. 46 toward Jinburyeong.

The restriction is scheduled to be lifted at the end of March 2026. However, depending on circumstances, the road may reopen earlier or the closure period may be extended. Even if weather conditions improve, the period may be prolonged due to risks from falling rocks and the need for repairs caused by road damage during the winter.

An official from Goseong County stated, "This closure is for your safety due to the risk of accidents. We ask for your understanding and cooperation in using the detour routes, and urge everyone to take extra care during the winter season."
