The Literary Award Resident Writer Support Program is designed to support writers who reside in literary facilities such as libraries, literary museums, and bookstores, allowing them to operate literary programs for local residents while continuing their creative work. The program aims to expand opportunities for the public to enjoy literature, revitalize literary facilities, and provide writers with jobs and stable creative environments.
This year, a new "Youth Participation" category has been introduced to increase the involvement of young writers. Eligible facilities can support up to two resident writers, including at least one young writer. When applying, facilities can select the desired number of writers, and the final number of placements will be determined by a review committee.
Any library, literary museum, or bookstore nationwide that can provide creative space for resident writers and has the capacity to operate literary programs is eligible to apply for this open call. Applications will be accepted through the National Culture and Arts Support System until January 9.
This open call targets literary facilities where resident writers will work. Writers wishing to become resident writers can apply through an online matching fair, which is scheduled to be held in March after the participating institutions are selected.
