Professor Kim Taemin of Kyungnam University Appointed as the Second President of the Korean Security Studies Association

Two-Year Term Starting in January
Plans to Lead Security Studies Research
and Industry-Academia Collaborative Activities

Professor Kim Taemin of the Department of Security and Safety at Kyungnam University was recently appointed as the second president of the Korean Security Studies Association.

Professor Kim was officially nominated as the next president at the 2025 Joint Academic Conference and the regular general meeting of the Korean Security Studies Association, held at Mokpo National Maritime University on December 19.


The Korean Security Studies Association, founded in 2024, is an academic organization that aims to advance scholarship and promote practical application in the field by integrating theory and practice in security studies. Researchers from academia and professionals from industry participate to expand the academic foundation of the security and safety sector.


As the newly appointed president, Professor Kim Taemin will serve a two-year term from January 2026 to December 2027, leading efforts to invigorate security studies research, expand academic exchange, and strengthen the foundation for industry-academia collaborative research.
