This citizen briefing session has been organized to share the development plans and key details regarding the promotion of designation as an Economic Free Zone with citizens and to broadly reflect their voices in the process.

An Economic Free Zone is a special economic area that stimulates the attraction of global companies and job creation by offering tax and regulatory incentives to businesses, thereby revitalizing the regional economy.
The city is pursuing the designation of an Economic Free Zone based on its excellent location and development potential. Through this initiative, Uijeongbu aims to establish a foundation for sustainable regional economic growth by creating jobs that encourage young people to stay and by strengthening the competitiveness of local industries.
Mayor Kim Donggeun stated, "The designation of an Economic Free Zone is a crucial policy directly linked to the future growth of Uijeongbu City. We will listen to a wide range of citizen opinions and seek the best direction together."
